Diane Bales
Course number and title: CHFD 2950: Introduction to Child Development
Brief description of service-learning project(s): During Maymester 2006, students revised an existing Cooperative Extension publication series on child development, using feedback from parents of young children. During Maymester 2007, groups of students developed a one-hour lesson on a child development topic for teen parents, using information from school social workers, teen parents, and county Extension agents.

Brenda Cude
Course number and title: HACE 4900: Governor's Office of Consumer Affairs Consumer Education Campaign
Brief description of service-learning project(s): Twelve students were assigned the roles within a consumer education campaign team. They selected a target audience and topic, and created a campaign complete the marketing and evaluation tools as well as a budget. At the end of the semester, they presented the campaign to the Governor's Office and received feedback.

Course number and title: CHFD 3710L Mid-life and Later Years
Brief description of service-learning project(s): Intergenerational service-learning program that pairs students with elders.

Lance Palmer
Course number and title: HACE 4230, HACE 3250
Brief description of service-learning project(s): Students are involved in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, helping low to moderate income individuals and families complete and file their federal income tax returns.

Joan Fischer
Course number and title: FDNS 5800 Dietetics Practicum
Brief description of service-learning project(s): Students engage in development and delivery of nutrition care and nutrition education programs in the community or in hospital settings. Our students complete a reflective component as a part of this class and we meet in groups to discuss the various experiences that students have working in the community.
Type of community contact/agency: Public health department, hospitals (in-patient and out-patient settings), school nutrition programs, Cooperative Extension.
