Learning Materials and Activities
Each student's program is designed to achieve specific IEP/IFSP/ITP objectives selected from the DTORF-R developmental assessment and focused on the individual's current stage of social-emotional development.
All DTT lesson plans, units of study, learning materials, and activities are planned around students' developmental stage characteristics. Effective programs reflect these qualities:
- Conducted in groups
- Stimulates individual skills
- Provides age appropriate materials and activities
- Touches concerns, interests, values, and emotional needs
- Includes real experiences with positive outcomes
- Encourages awareness and connection with others
- Strengthens effectiveness in a peer group
- Increases social understanding
- Explores human issues
- Changes as students make progress
