This 3-hour self-study is designed to teach basic information about child develoment from birth through age five. Topics include milestones in physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development, as well as guidelines for understanding the patterns unique to each child and those common to all children. The self-study includes guidelines for child care providers on planning actvities to support and encourage the development of each child at his or her own rate. County Extension Agents can provide a pre-test and post-test for child care providers taking this course. Providers who pass the post-test will receive a certificate for state-accepted child care training credit (3 hours).

Guiding Children Positively For Sale

Guiding children's behavior in a positive way is one of the most challenging tasks faced by child care professionals. This self-study course offers tools for understanding behavior of children and self; explains discipline as a tool for preventing behavior problems; demonstrates positive guidance techniques; and teaches child care providers basic ways to reinforce appropriate behavior and manage inappropriate behavior. County Extension Agents can provide a pre-test and post-test for child care providers taking this course. Providers who pass the post-test will receive a certificate for state-accepted child care training credit (3 hours).

Keeping Children Safe and Well in a Child Care Center For Sale

This self -study course is designed to help child care professionals provide healthy and safe care for young children. The course focuses on identifying and preventing infectious diseases, recognizing and treathing symptoms of illness, indoor and outdoor safety, water safety, safe food handling, choosing toys and equipment, and many other health and safety topics. County Extension Agents can provide a pre-test and post-test for child care providers taking this course. Providers who pass the post-test will receive a certificate for state-accepted child care training credit (2 hours).
