Typing/transcription position
Thanks for your interest in a typing/transcription position with University Transcription Services, Georgia (UTS). This position is ideal for those who are seeking part time work on a long term, multi year project. We offer productivity based compensation and the most flexible scheduling process you will find anywhere! We have been in a constant state of growth for the past three and a half years, and anticipate that rate to accelerate over the next several years. This puts us in the position of continually evaluating candidates and increasing our staff size, which we will be doing over the next several months so please be patient as we go through this process.
Please complete the attached form with your own specific information, and send the revised form via email to: athjobs@uigfla.com <mailto:athjobs@uigfla.com> . If you have not already done so, please go to the following link, take the three-minute typing test, and include your results in the appropriate space on the attached form, http://www.typingtest.com <http://www.typingtest.com/>. Please rename the file prior to sending it in the following format, ‘last name, first name’, for example Shields, Douglas
A note of caution about the typing test: Please take the test only one time and send the results of your initial test. If you take the test numerous times, the result will be that you achieve an artificially higher score due to memorizing the content.
We will review this information upon receipt and advise you immediately if you do not qualify. For all those who do qualify, we will provide more information about the position and advise you of available training sessions.
The vast majority of work is for Financial Services transcription. You will listen to audio files via a computer and headset, and type what you hear. Speed, Accuracy and Quality are essential. The current hours of operation in Athens are 8am-12midnight, M-F. We provide a process that allows you to make adjustments and modifications to your schedule on an as needed basis. The bottom line is that we provide extreme flexibility with scheduling. As we have a large number of students who perform this function, we need information regarding your availability during traditional school breaks such as Spring Break, Summer Break, and Winter Break. Please be very specific regarding your availability, or lack thereof, during these periods.
Thanks,
Douglas Shields
