Student Opportunities Student Interior Design Association

 

The Student Interior Design Association (SIDA) includes student chapters of the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), International Interior Design Association (IIDA), and the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). Students may choose to join one or all of the student chapters. SIDA holds meetings monthly to promote professional development and interaction between students, faculty and industry professionals.

Guests Speakers for the meetings are brought in from the industry to give students a broad understanding of career options as well as to highlight special topics in interior design.  The organization also includes a mentorship program where upperclassmen are paired with lowerclassmen to provide support and encouragement.  In addition to the monthly meetings, SIDA also organizes field trips and coordinates to attend the quarterly Furnishings and Interiors alumni association meetings, Designing Dawgs.
