Research
My research interests broadly include risk and resilience in couples and families, the influence of trauma on individual and relational health, and military families. More specifically, I am interested in how experiences of traumatic events and difficult life transitions affect individuals, their relationships, and their families, and how these factors inform both the timing and type of interventions for individuals and their families. Military families are a population of particular interest to me given the unique risks these families are exposed to and the resilience these families demonstrate.
Current Research
I am currently part of a research team evaluating the efficacy of financial planning programs in the Air Force and the influence of these trainings on individual and familial well-being. I am also a part of the Military REACH Lab housed at Auburn University which conducts research on risk and resilience in military families and translates this research into practice with specific implications for practitioners, policy makers, and families.
