Job Description
Ongoing Research: Development of Lightweight Ballistic Materials from Spectra Fibers.
This research will investigate the effect of incorporating PUs and nano-materials such as graphene, fullerenes and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) into fiber reinforced composite structures. Using these nanofillers, lighter weight high performance materials can be fabricated and evaluated for their structure and properties. It will also study on the fundamental issues that lead to improvement in performance of protective materials that will lead to an increase in their fracture energy, thus allowing significant reduction in weight required to achieve desired level of protection.
